This project was a Technique Tuesday card idea that is repeatable and beautiful - designed by design team member, Allison! She shares an easy way to achieve different colors and add to your stash of cards using the Snow Day collection.
Step 1: Select stamp images from Snow Day and stamp out on colored paper. Here we used a light blue color to compliment the Snow Day card stock.
Step 2: Color in images using markers and cut them out. Not all card stock is created equal and you may notice on colored card stock your inks don’t blend as well. This will come into play later.
Step 3: To create a frame space out two of our Stitched Rectangle dies and cut at an angle to get a complete cut. If you run your dies parallel to the rollers in your machine, a ‘speed bump’ is created and the dies will give an incomplete cut because they are positioned so close together.
Here you have a frame and a bonus background for a future bonus project!
Step 4: Assemble your die cuts on the card. For the blending you are unhappy with, add some glue and apply some glitter to ‘cover’ your blending mistakes.
This card was the original creation. The standard white card stock and black ink.
This card was created with a light blue card stock that matches the paper from the Snow Day Collection.
These images were stamped with brown ink instead of black and colored in pink for a bit of fun.
We hope you enjoyed this tutorial on how to build your stash with one collection. So many options!
