ALBUM ASSEMBLY
Fold each layout as a trifold. If your paper pack is folded like a Z, bend one side the other direction. See the QR code in the package for more details.
Make sure the shorter side is folded in on the right.
While folded, add adhesive to the back panel of the trifold.
Adhere that panel to the front flap of the next panel. Ensure all edges are aligned. Use a clamp to hold together. Repeat steps 3 & 4 until all panels are attached.
For flip outs: Bend tab, score with a bone folder (optional) and add adhesive to the tabs. Glue to the page in any direction desired.
For pocket panels: Bend all 3 tabs, score with a bone folder (optional) and add adhesive to the tabs. Glue to the page on the 3 tab sides, leaving the top open to create a pocket.Begin decorating layout one next.
NOTE: The front/back cover should be done last.
LAYOUT #1: Trifold layout with top flip out flap Note you may need to trim all inner pages by 1/16” to fit with the inside folds.
Adhere the flip out tab to the top of the middle page.
Then glue 1 sheet of red star pattern to middle panel, under flap.
Adhere 1 panel of light green grinch to left inside panel.
Trim light green grinch pattern to 5” by 6”. Adhere to the outside of the right flap. Save the excess.
Cut dark green crisscross pattern at 3 ¾” by 5 ¾”. Save the excess. Adhere to top of flip out.
Attach 2 rectangles to the left side panel and 1 rectangle inside the upper flap.
Attach the star to the front right panel.
Decorate with chosen die cut pieces.
LAYOUT #2: Diagonal pocket page
Trim the shorter right flap of the album page about 2” up at a diagonal, from the bottom left up to the top right corner. Save excess for a template.
Glue 1 sheet of the red polka dot to the middle panel.
Glue 1 sheet of the light green plaid to the left side panel.
Trim a sheet of the light green plaid to 5” by 6”. Take the album’s excess corner and lay it over this plaid paper with the 5” side at the top/bottom. Trim off the top left corner and adhere to the top outside of the right panel.
Add glue to the bottom and left short side of the right diagonal panel. Don’t glue on the top or middle. Fold over and adhere to the middle panel to create a pocket.
Glue both polaroid cuts over 1 sheet of the red polka dot paper and trim off the edges. Save excess for tag decorating. Glue polaroids to the left side panel. Save inside excess pieces of polaroids for another layout.
Add ribbon die cut piece to bottom of pocket as trim.
Decorate tags as desired.
LAYOUT #3: Gift box page
Trim the right side of the album’s short panel down to 3” in width.
Trim an excess flip-flap down until it is 2” wide (not including the tab).
Fold at the score line and adhere the tab near the top of the left side panel.
Cut a 2nd sheet of grinch paper to 5.5” by 5.5” square. Save for next step.
Adhere the 5.5” square piece to the center of the left side panel underneath the flip out tab. This will create the “gift box” where the top will open.
Trim a piece of red stripe paper down to 1” by 5.5” and adhere to center of gift box, placed vertically. This is now the “ribbon.” Place an optional white piece of cardstock (excess of the album piece) underneath, as desired, for journaling.
Cut a strip of red striped paper at 2” by 5.75” to this flip out panel. You can use the excess of the first sheet you just cut for the ribbon. This is now the lid of the gift box.
Cut 1 sheet of grinch paper to 3” by 6”. Adhere this to top of short right side panel. Add the striped trim that came with your pack for an additional “ribbon.”
Adhere an additional tag to the top of the “box” at an angle, making sure you can open and close the lid and the album before applying.
In the middle section of the layout, use any additional scraps of either stripe or grinch paper to create 2 squares for photos. Add the insides of the polaroids for writing or photo panes as needed.
Decorate as desired. Additionally, you may decorate the inside right hand panel with paper or leave blank for journaling. Add a photo to the center gift box too, if desired.
LAYOUT #4: Scallop Pocket Page
Cut 1 sheet of green grid down to 5.75” by 5.75”. Next, cut that piece in half (2.875”). Adhere the first piece at the top of the left side panel, leaving a .25” inch border at the top and sides.
Score the additional album pocket on 3 sides and glue to the bottom of the left side panel, leaving a .25” edge on bottom and sides. Cover it with a 3” by 5.75” cut of the pattern grinch, and save excess.
Take the remaining pieces of dark green plaid and light green grinch and apply to the middle panel in an opposite pattern from the left. Leave a border of white as desired.
Cut the 2nd piece of grinch paper at 4.75” by 5.75” and adhere to the right side short panel. You should have a .25” border in white on all edges.
Next, cut the scallop circle in half, then cut only one of them in half again in half. You’ll have 3 pieces. Adhere one corner on the outside right panel, applying glue just on the side and corner. You’ll create a small pocket.
With the scallop half piece, apply to the edge of the pocket on the left panel.
Decorate as desired.
LAYOUT #5: Candy Red Square Page
Draw a light pencil line at the 3” mark horizontally on the inside of the shorter right panel. Use a ruler for accurate measurement. Cut on this line with a scissors. Erase any pencil marks.
Cut 1 sheet of the red stars pattern in half at 3” horizontally. Apply on the outside of the shorter right panel. Note – line up pattern as necessary before gluing and trim off small edges as needed.
Trim the excess of 1 pink hearts pattern and 1 red argyle pattern pieces down slightly by a 1/16”. Then, cut each sheet into 4 - 3” squares each for a total of 8 – 3” squares.
Adhere them in checkerboard fashion on the left panel and middle panel. Trim the edges slightly on the borders as needed. Continue to trim as needed for a snug fit.
Glue stitched white cardstock square to center of left side panel. Glue excess negative pieces from polaroids to the top right and bottom left of the outside right flaps.
Decorate additional tag pieces as desired or add journaling lines with a ruler and pen. Line up tags underneath the 2 right panels so the tops of the tags show through. Glue down with adhesive (or optional pop up dot/foam).
Decorate as desired.
LAYOUT #6: Blue Grinch and Hearts Page
Glue 1 sheet of the blue text pattern on the left side panel. Attach the red scallop frame to center.
Trim 1 sheet of the pink heart pattern to 5” by 6”. Glue to front top of pocket flap on right side. Glue the short page down to the back of the album, only putting adhesive at the top and bottom of the page. This allows you to adhere the tab of the heart underneath in the next step.
Fold up the white pop up heart in an accordion style. Place the back heart piece just at the top of the right side panel, and fold the tab under the pocket. Glue the tab to inside of pocket and the back heart to the front of the pocket. Your hearts should now unfold to show 3 hearts from the front.
Use red cardstock hearts to decorate this pop up. You may also use these as templates to cut out your photos. Decorate as desired.
(Optional) Take an additional fold out flap and cut off the tab. Adhere die cut pieces to it as desired, and slip it inside the pocket for a pullout photo/journal page.
LAYOUT: Front and Back Covers
Adhere both sheets of the green polka dot pattern to front and back covers, trimming down for fit as necessary.
Cut a piece of red and white stripe to 3” by 6” (note – more may be needed if your album is thicker). Slightly bend in the middle to form an arc.
Add generous adhesive to the left side of the front panel up and down the edge, about an inch in width. Glue down the red striped paper to the front 1” side of the panel. Do NOT apply glue to the binding area. Hold in place with clamps as needed.
Then, wrap the red striped piece securely around to the back and add adhesive to the backside of the panel, making sure not to add glue to the striped paper or binding. Hold in place with clamps as needed. Note, you will see a gap between the binding and the paper when you open the book – this is to allow movement. Allow for adequate drying time.
Add the decorative scallop strip to front edge.
Decorate with desired die cut pieces.
DANGLE and SPINNER MECHANISM:
Add your spinner to the back of a die cut piece and glue to front of the album.
Thread ribbon pieces through your lobster claw piece and trim to appropriate length. Tie a bow around the top section of the ribbon, just under the metal loop of the lobster claw. String any additional die cut tags or bling as desired.
Using a small piece of twine, string through a small punched hole in the top left corner. Tie the lobster claw to this twine to hang freely.
