A colorful way to gift multiple gift cards with style! This mini flip album holds five pockets in rainbow colors and opens like a charm with an elastic closure. It pairs our Backpack Metal Dies with our Gift Card Pocket Metal Die. See below for instructions and a supply list.
Supplies: Dies: Backpack Mini Album, Gift Card Pocket Die, Rainbow Builder Kit Papers: Keep It Simple Paper Crafts – Lemon, Jade, Mango, Royal, Rose Adhesive: Strong double-sided tape Elastic: Hair tie or thin cord Optional: Corner rounder, trimmer, scoring tool
Instructions - Prep the Binding: Die cut the inner page binding from the Backpack Mini Album set. Trim ¼" off the bottom—this helps align the gift card pockets evenly.
Tape back with double-sided tape.
You’ll be using the 5 tabs on the binding as anchors for the pockets.
Create the Pockets: Die cut 5 pockets in rainbow colors (rose, mango, lemon, jade, royal). Place adhesive on the back tabs of each pocket. Die cut 5 additional pockets in matching colors and trim off the side tabs. Add tape along the bottom edge of these.
Assemble the Flip Mechanism: Start with the pink set. Attach the first pink pocket to the first tab of the binding.
Remove tape from the bottom of the second pink pocket and sandwich it over the binding tab to enclose it.
Repeat this “sandwich” method with orange, yellow, green, and blue sets.
Mat the Covers: Die cut the Front Cover Mat 4 times. Trim two mats by 1" vertically to cover only the bottom two holes on the album cover (leave top two holes open for the elastic). Die cut: Two back cover mats (upper) Two front cover mats Two top cover mats (for spine flap, inside and out)
Adhere the Mats: On the back cover, adhere one front cover mat to the back and one to the inside back. Slightly overlap with the upper back cover mat to finish the look. On the front flap, adhere one front cover mat on the outside and one inside. Finish with the top cover mats on the flap spine.
Add the Closure: Cut a hair tie or piece of elastic. Thread it through the top two holes of the album flap. Tie a knot inside to hold in place—this becomes your closure band.
This makes a sweet, reusable gift for teacher appreciation, birthdays, or thank-yous—with room for five colorful gift cards tucked neatly inside!
