This was a Technique Tuesday email tutorial of colorful card designed by our very own design team member, Barry. He shares 2 techniques with us - stenciling and paper piecing using the Pure Imagination collection.
1. Cut background paper at 4.25" x 5.50". Cut the Pure Imagination designer paper at 4" x 5.25" (brown) and the white square at 2" x 2". You'll also cut strips of coordinating paper at .25" x 4" long.
2. Stamp, emboss and color the white square. I used the Candy Swirls Stencil using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Picked Raspberries and Candied Apple colors.
3. Stamp your sentiment on your focal point paper at a diamond angle as shown.
4. Adhere the designer paper to the background paper and then adhere the focal image in the center.
5. Adhere your strips to the outside of your focal diamond image making sure your top edge meets the top side of the diamond as shown.
6. Continue placing your remaining strips around the sides of the diamond shape making sure you lay the end of the strip against the previous one.
7. Trim off the excess from the strips and decorate and embellish the front of the card.
8. Lastly, add your finished project to the front of an A2 card base measuring 4.25" x 5.50". And your "sweet" card is complete!
