Create a step card using the Bugs Collection

Join us to create a clever card project using the Bugs Collection! This faux step card was created by design team member Leslie. See steps and supplies needed below.

Cut the card base at 4-1/4″ x 11” from white cardstock and score it at 1-1/4″, 2-1/2″ and 6-3/4”. Fold on the score lines (mountain-valley-mountain). Next, cut the faux narrow panel at 1-1/2″ x 11″ and score it at 5-1/2″.

Cut the patterned paper layering panels. I used coordinating prints from the Bugs 6x9 Collection Pack.
1. Front panel: 4-1/8” x 4-1/8” cut from green print
2. Back panel: 4-1/8” x 4-1/8” cut from orange print
3. Narrow faux panel: 1-1/4” x 5-3/8” cut from orange print
4. Bottom strip: 1-1/8” x 4-1/8” cut from green circle print

Die cut the circle elements for the focal image:
1. Stitched circle: blue print (I used the 4th largest die in the Back To Basics Stitched Circles Nested Dies set)
2. Scalloped circle: white cardstock (I used the 3rd smallest die in the KIS Cuts: Stitched Scallops set)

Adhere the front panel, narrow faux panel, and bottom strip. Don’t adhere the back panel yet.

Apply glue ONLY to the outer ends on the back side of the faux narrow panel.

Close the card base and sandwich it between the layers of the faux narrow panel. Center the faux narrow panel and line it up with the bottom edges of the card. Press to adhere and apply a clip for a couple minutes while drying. This front should look like this.
