This innovative buckle card design was created by design team member, Leslie. She's used supplies from the Crafty Girls collection and the Build A House Metal Dies. See her instructions and supply list below.
Start by cutting the following pieces:
Card base: 5-1/2" x 6-3/8" cardstock, scored at 2-1/8".
Belt: 1-15/16" x 5" cardstock, scored at 3/4".
Buckle: Die cut two identical shapes from patterned paper.
Front half flap: 2" x 5-3/8" patterned paper.
Inside half flap: 2" x 5-3/8" patterned paper.
Inside background: 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" patterned paper.
Fold and burnish the score lines on the card base and belt. Cut 1-5/8" off the belt (on the opposite end of the score line) and save the cut-off piece. Adhere the belt to the card base with the score line up against the outside edge of the card base. I use my score board for this.
Adhere the patterned paper panels to the front half flap, inside half flap and the inside background. Adhere the cut off piece from the belt to the left side of the card base, making sure it's even with the right side of the belt.
Apply glue to the top and bottom of the inside of one of the die cut buckle pieces.
Adhere the second die cut buckle piece to the first one. Be sure there is no glue in the center, as your strap will need to move freely inside the buckle.
Apply glue to the left side of the buckle and adhere it to the front half flap.
Slide the right side of the strap in between the two layers of the buckle to close the card.
Embellish as desired. I used the KIS Stamps and KIS Cuts Build-A-Birdhouse to create a new home card. This is the front.
And this is the inside. Your card is ready to go!
